Our Vision

“You have a book in you! You should write a book.”

“Maybe you’ve heard a statement like that before. Maybe it kindled a spark inside you. Maybe it’s been a life-long dream of yours to write a book. Maybe you have a message,
testimony or teaching that must be told. Maybe the time has come for your book writing
dream to finally become reality!” ~ Deborah & Krista

Our Directors

Krista Dunk and Deborah McLain are excited to introduce their company, CREATIVE FORCE PRESS.  In 2011, Krista and Deborah became instant friends while participating in a fast-paced leadership class, where they created content for a small group companion study guide for a well-known author – the first of many projects! The merging of these two highly-skilled, passionate and experienced entrepreneurs has produced a company able to guide aspiring authors successfully through the entire book-writing process – from concept and writing, to publishing and marketing.

Deborah McLain,                                             Krista Dunk,
Writing Director                                              Project Director

Krista knows firsthand the challenges of the book-writing process. After writing and publishing her first book, Step Out and Take Your Place, the experience inspired her to help others who have the same dream, but have no idea where to start. As Project Director, Krista will work directly with authors to develop a customized plan and work through the process she’s discovered along her journey, and build a comprehensive plan for their own book.

Krista has worn many hats including hosting a weekly radio show and co-founded an organization called Koinonia Business Women. She is a national speaker, virtual conference organizer and trained sign language interpreter, and developed a popular “Worship With Sign” class.

Krista married her high school sweetheart and has two children.

Deborah McLain holds a B.S. in Communication Studies from New York University. She served nearly two decades with the State of Washington before moving to New York in 2002. Excelling in writing earned her the NYU Steinhardt scholarship and a coveted spot in the Advanced Expository Writing group, where she honed her storytelling skills.

As Writing Director, Deborah also brings her experience working with media, where she developed stories, press releases, and speeches for elected officials. And, as an advocate for a non-profit, she co-wrote legislation strengthening existing federal and state laws protecting trafficked children. She participated in a Round Table at the White House and two United Nations forums, which led to invitations to speak at Princeton and Fordham University.

Several years ago Deborah married her best friend from high school, Steve. Together, they have three grown children.
